Iran kept things tight with Mexico in the first half then let in two goals in three minutes, near the end of the game.

Portugal vs Iran in Frankfurt:
Iran started to grow in confidence, just before the break and managed to keep the game tight for over an hour but they eventually lost their grip and stumble out of the 2006 World Cup.

Iran vs Angola in Leipzig:
At least Iran went home with a point.
